2014 Felt Bicycles B16

Felt's slippery B16 is your ticket to triathlon and time trial stardom. This full-carbon speed demon achieves maximum velocity with an ultra-narrow frame that virtually vanishes when viewed head on. Making that happen are cutting-edge details such as internal cable routing, a chainstay-mounted brake, an aero seatpost, horizontal rear dropouts, and cutouts for both wheels. All that aero madness creates a frame that barely disturbs the air flowing around you. It's decked out with Felt's aero carbon fork, their slick TTR4 wheels, a precision-shifting Microshift/Shimano 105 20-speed drivetrain, and a lightweight, 3-position aluminum aero bar.

      Comments:

I got into triathlons to get fit. My brother also helped to convince me to try it, but I didn't want to spend the kind of money he was spending on equipment. I didn't know if I would enjoy it or have the time to train. I wanted to get a carbon fiber bike and this bike was the least expensive on the market. I've had it for a year now, and I don't intend on upgrading it any time soon. It's been great.

        Comments:

Once I started riding the bike I was able to tweak it to my own size and comfort. The bike has a lot of adjustability and nice components that can always be upgraded as the needs arise. Have had the bike now for 10 months and I keep my eyes on upgrading as parts wear out. My interest in cycling in general has increased largely in part to this bike as well. As a result I am in much better shape and have increased my overall health and fitness.

              Comments:

This bike is a great deal for the money. I shaved nearly 4 minutes from my sprint triathlon time after only 2 weeks of owning it. It is responsive, stiff, and climbs like a bat out of hell. The components it comes with are sufficient for 1 season, but with time are worth upgrading as the frame is fantastic and with top notch components should make a good rider an excellent one. Did I mention what a good looking bike it is as well? Felt has hit it out of the park with this entry/mid level carbon bike as it races par with bikes that are [$]more.

              Comments:

The bike is simply the best carbon fiber tri bike for the money. I'd easily put it up against the Cervelo P2C. The wheels are deeper than normal, providing a great training set and a good racing wheel. It is a little heavier than I imagined, but not bad. Components are good all around. Ultegra would've been nice on this level bike but the price would have been raised of course. Handling is a huge upgrade from my Trek 1000. I qualified for Duathlon Worlds because of this bike!
